In 2011 Ontarian individuals indicated they had at least one out of use electronic device.

The average person only keeps their mobile phone for 2.7 years.

What good are old electronics when no one wants that aged technology? Electronic waste contains some of the most valuable materials mined and refined in the modern world.

How can I make a difference as an individual to help reduce greenhouse gas emissions? Recycling of 1 million mobile phones is equal to taking 1,368 cars off the road for a year.

To produce 1 tonne of copper, it takes only 14 tonnes of recycled electronics compared with 80 tonnes of raw materials acquired from underground mining operations.

5 tonnes of copper is enough to make 5,000 mobile phones.
